You grab your keys, drive to the station, and before you even turn in you already know there is a space waiting for you. That is what the Park & Ride card in KRAIL is for, and it is a quick check.
Open KRAIL and the Park & Ride section is sitting right there on your home screen. Tap your station and you see how many spots are free, how full it is, and when those numbers were last updated.
Open the card and see the spaces
Each station card opens up to show every car park it has. Tallawong, for example, has more than one, so you see them one under the other and can pick the one with room. Each car park tells you three things:
- how many spots are available right now
- how full it is, as a percentage
- the time the count was last updated
Open the card to get the latest count. The Last updated at time on it tells you exactly how fresh the numbers are.
Add your station in a few taps
Tap Add Park & Ride (it says Add another once you have one) and you get a list of stations from A to Z. Type in the search box if you already know the name, then tap a station to add it. You will feel a little buzz and see a tick.
Good to know
- The live counts cover the commuter car parks that report their numbers to Transport for NSW, like Tallawong, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Schofields and Hornsby. Street parking and private car parks are not in there.
- Check it before you leave home, not when you are already in the queue at the boom gate.
- Your cards live on your phone.
